Delete Your MCT Reader Account

This page applies to MCT reader accounts used on the Morning Coffee Thoughts website and Android and iOS apps.

Delete an account in the mobile app

1. Sign in to the MCT app.
2. Open More.
3. Select Delete my reader account.
4. Review the warning and confirm permanent deletion.

The app will delete the reader profile and active sessions immediately. Published comments will be anonymized so the surrounding conversation is not damaged.

Request deletion without the app

1. Open the MCT contact form.
2. Enter the same email address you use for your MCT reader account.
3. Choose Technical problem or the closest available topic.
4. Write Delete my MCT reader account in the subject line and clearly request deletion in the message.
5. Submit the form. MCT may ask you to verify control of the account email before processing the request.

You may also send the request directly from your account email address to [email protected].

What will be deleted

After verification, MCT will delete the reader account and the personal profile information connected to it, including the email address, display name, age group, region, province or city information stored with the account, and active reader sessions.

MCT will also delete or anonymize survey responses and comments when they can reasonably be connected to the account, unless a record must be retained for security, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or a legal obligation.

What may be retained

Limited records may be retained only when reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or abuse, complete a pending moderation or deletion request, resolve a dispute, or comply with law. Any retained record will be limited to the purpose that requires it and will not be used for advertising or sold.

Processing time

MCT will acknowledge the request and complete verified account-deletion requests within 30 days, unless additional time is reasonably required by law or because the request cannot yet be verified.

Request deletion of specific data only

You may use the same contact form or email address to request deletion of a particular comment, survey response, or optional profile detail without closing the entire account. Identify the item clearly so MCT can locate it.
